SMM January 2 News: Today, rare earth market prices remained generally stable. According to SMM data, Pr-Nd oxide was quoted at 396,000 to 400,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium oxide prices remained stable at 1.6 to 1.62 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide prices rose to 5.59 to 5.63 million yuan/mt. Meanwhile, gadolinium oxide and holmium oxide prices were steady at 148,000 to 150,000 yuan/mt and 400,000 to 404,000 yuan/mt, respectively.

In the metal market, Pr-Nd alloy prices remained at 487,000 to 491,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy prices were stable at 1.56 to 1.57 million yuan/mt, terbium metal prices fluctuated between 6.95 and 7 million yuan/mt, while gadolinium-iron prices remained stable at 146,000 to 149,000 yuan/mt. The overall rare earth market was relatively quiet today, with oxide price centers moving upward and quotes stabilizing, while low-priced supplies gradually decreased. Metal producers mostly adopted a tentative inquiry approach, and actual trading volume was very limited. As the Chinese New Year holiday approaches, downstream magnet manufacturers showed low purchase willingness, and overall market activity remained subdued. With many enterprises expected to suspend production and take holidays in January, SMM predicts that the rare earth market will likely remain mediocre, with prices continuing to stabilize.
